Shrove Tuesday 2019

Date:
Tuesday, March 5, 2019

Shrove Tuesday officially ends the season of Epiphany and the start of lent for Christianity.

Traditionally it is viewed as a day of repentance, Shrove Tuesday is the last day for celebration and feasting before the period of fasting required during lent. The name "Shrove Tuesday" is derived from the word "shrive", which means to confess and receive absolution.

England also call it pancake day.

The day is moveable and depends on easter dates.
